SITE VISITS - Phase 1
The focus of Phase I was a detailed survey of McGill University e-record keeping practices. This survey looked at McGill University enterprise records (Banner), including the data warehouse and the three main sub-systems; FIS (Financial Information System), SIS (Student Information System), and HR (Human Resources Information System). The WebCT group (course-ware), Web Communications Group, Development and Alumni Relations and the Library Systems group (Aleph) also received several visits concerning their operations. The site visits were facilitated by our colleagues in McGill University’s IT sectors (specifically Information Systems Resources and Network and Communications Services).

An additional survey tool was developed in May 2004 extending the scope of the survey to office systems on campus servers and independent local area networks.
