Search the War Records

The McGill University War Records are comprised of 6,617 index cards and more than 3,000 files containing newspaper clippings, correspondence and approximately 700 photographs. They document the involvement of McGill faculty, students, alumni, and staff in the war effort (1939-1945).

To search the War records you can browse the alphabetical list or you can search by name.


       

 

Occasionally, variances or differences may be found in the content archival records. These variances may include the spelling or absence of name, a discrepancy in the date of an event, a person being misidentified or other similar differences in the recorded information. When this occurs, it is important to acknowledge the variances while preserving the authenticity of the record. As such, archival records will not be altered to maintain their context and additional information will be added to improve and strengthen the archival description.
